Which hotel to choose in Zambia: what to pay attention to

Zambia, being one of the most colorful and picturesque countries of Africa, every year there is all the demand among tourists. Despite the growing popularity, there are not so many hotels in Zambia. It is interesting that there are no official certification of hotels in the country, and hotels can be certified by tour operators or the owners themselves. Hotels of category 4 and 5* are located mainly in large cities – such as Lusaka or Livingston, or in national parks. As a rule, the interior of rooms in hotels of such categories is designed using natural materials in the national style, and equipped with modern technology. However, even in such rooms there may be no hot water or mosquito grid on the windows, the presence of such amenities must be clarified before buying a tour. In addition, the cost of living in 4 and 5* hotels is quite high-$ 150-200 per day. The rest in the so -called logs – small cottage complexes with several rooms, kitchen and bathroom, or campsites will cost much cheaper. Campings are divided by the level of comfort, on which the presence of a kitchen, hot water and other amenities depends. Lodges are especially suitable for tourists who have arrived on safari, as they are located mainly in the territory of national parks. This type of relaxation will cost about $ 50-100 per day. The most budgetary option for living in Zambia is an overnight stay in hostels, chalets or dormitories. However, it is worth being prepared for the fact that showers and toilets are located separately, or amenities are not provided at all in the territory. One day of residence in hostels will cost about $ 8-30.To improve the conditions of tourists in Zambia, the tourism police successfully operates. Representatives of law and order help tourists in the case of any difficulties arising from tourists – in particular with hotel personnel.
