“Arkanchi” in translation from the Uzbek language means “archer”, that is, one who makes ropes (Arkan). So the owner called this hotel in honor of his father’s profession. Arkanchi Hotel is a family hotel who has undergone many changes in the 20th annual existence. At the very beginning of the 90s of the XX in., This was the very first private hotel in Khiva and it looked like a carvan-saray (a dervish hotel).
The local was a large courtyard with a garden, with a shadow of trees and trestle. In the evenings, tourists or the residents of this house, who were newly and hotel workers, were sitting on the Topchans. Then the hotel was rebuilt and now it looks like a completely modern hotel.
